The key to success -
Part 4 – Never give up
This is the final part to my 4 part guide.

Step 1 – Knowing what you want and have a clear vision.

Step 2 – Making the plan – remember if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Step 3 – Having the confidence to start. Use my 3 box method and your list of achievements.

Now the final step to success Step 4.

Winston Churchill once said ‘never, ever, ever give up!’

In life there are only 2 ways to fail at something.
1. Is to not start and
2. is to stop.
Do you know that Thomas Edison took over 1000 times to create a working light bulb?
He was asked what it was like to fail 999 times. He replied that he hadn’t failed he had just found 999 was that don’t work.

If I asked you if you like to fail, most of you would probably say ‘no!’ but who likes to learn?
Failure is learning that, that certain way doesn’t work, so you need to change what you are doing, adapt it and move on. If it’s like banging your head against a brick wall, stop it and move away from the wall. All you’ll get is a sore head!

We are all born with determination so why do we learn to give up?
When you were learning to walk or speak, how long did your parents give you until they said ‘lets forget it?’ The answer is, they didn’t and neither did you. Why? Because you did not know about negative thinking or self doubt.

So what happened since then?

Imagine the future
I want you to see yourself in the future having achieved your goal/dream
How do you feel? How do you look? What can you see around you?
What is it you feel, see, hear that makes you know that you have achieved it?

I really want you to imagine what that all feels like. I bet it feels amazing yes.
Just look at yourself. I bet you are brimming with confidence, smiling like a Cheshire cat and you feel amazing, yes?

Well my friend, you can have all of that. If you can imagine it, you can have it.

Einstein said, ‘imagination is more important than knowledge’. He was absolutely right.
For example, if you know how to build a car, great! But if you have no idea on how it’s going to look and drive what good is that knowledge?

So really imagine yourself in that future having achieved your goal/dream. And using the last 3 steps I’ve taught you, you can start to move towards it.

Believe me you will come across hurdles and challenges that will try and stop you from reaching your destination.
Friends and family might even tell you to stop chasing rainbows. It’s a sad fact but people close to you can sometimes do that. I know I had the same, when I first started out.
You see some people like where you are in life and knowing you as part of that, they would like you to stay that way. They may feel that if you become successful it may make them feel uncomfortable or they may loose you. All I ask is that whatever you are trying to achieve doesn’t cause harm or hurt to anyone. Only good can come from good and only evil comes from evil.
Don’t lose sight of whom you have around you and take gratitude in what you already have in your life.

So many people have all the money they need in life, but are miserable. This is such a shame and an empty way to live.

They only need to stop and look around them to really appreciate all the people that love them, the friends they have and just stop and smell the roses from time to time, otherwise it’s all a waste don’t you think.

So my friend, step 4 is to never give up. Know what it will feel like to achieve your goal/dream.
Know that you will come across challenges and when they do crop up, as they will. Just say ‘I knew you were coming!’ accept that the challenge is here. If you have to adapt your progress or change course slightly then that’s fine. As long as you are heading in the right direction.

Never, ever give up. You are the only thing stepping in your way.
I could tell you countless stories of people who were born into horrific circumstances and have achieved incredible things. You can either join them at the top or stay in your comfort zone and then look back and wish you’d done something.

What would you like your final words to be in this life?
Will it be ‘I’m glad I did!’ or ‘I wish I had’

Keep focused, keep going and enjoy the journey
