The key to success
Part 1 – What do you want?
The Olympics are almost here. They will struggle through barriers, pain, those limiting and negative beliefs and they will win. WOW!
What do you think it would feel like to stand up there and know that you’ve beaten the odds and won? Could we use some of what those Olympians have got? Of course we could and can!
What would it mean for you to have the confidence and strength of mind to overcome the challenges and get what you really want. But firstly do you know what it is you want? Sometimes that’s the most difficult part. So many people go through their lives saying what they would like but never coming close to having it. So why is this?
To achieve something, you need to have these four things. I call it The 4 keys to success
- Know what you want and to be able to see it clearly
- Make ‘The Plan’
- Have the confidence to start
- Never, ever give up until you get it.
In this blog post I want to talk about Point 1
Point 1. Know what you want and to see it clearly and with clarity.
For example
some people want to be millionaires but all that is, is lots of green notes.
What you need to do is focus on what you would buy with the money. Really imagine it.
If you were going to buy a house, what would the house look like? What colour would the door be? Would it have a big garden, swimming pool? What would the kitchen look like?
What else would you do with the money? Would you maybe help a charity out?
Would you start a new business…the list goes on, but the main thing is to be specific.
One analogy I like to use is to think of your dream as a journey. If you were going on holiday you wouldn’t turn up at the airport with no idea of where you wanted to go would you?
You would plan in advance where you wanted to go. Look through the holiday brochures and decide what country or area to visit. What hotel to stay in etc. etc.
The key thing is you’d plan it. So if you got to the airport and there were no planes flying you could in theory, get a car and drive or even a boat in order to still get you to your destination.
This analogy is the same with your dream. As long as you know where you are heading, when things change you can alter course in order to still reach the destination.
So to recap: Know what you want and see it clearly How about getting pictures of what it is you want. Some people have a dream book and they use this to write in what it is they want to achieve and gather pictures of what they want their dream to look like. This can really help you to visualise. I have used this method in my goal setting and it has worked everytime.
Remember when you start to clearly visualize, you start to actualize.
